Molly the Trolley during ArtsGoggle

Twice a year, Fort Worth South, Inc. presents the popular ArtsGoggle, a grassroots gallery crawl that's now a regional attraction drawing thousands. The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) provides convenient shuttle service during ArtsGoggle with Molly the Trolley. Getting around by bike is also popular and easy, with bike lanes along the primary ArtsGoggle venue streets. Don't miss ArtsGoggle on Saturday, May 19, 4-10pm!

Friday on the Green: Moved to SECOND Friday!

Friday on the Green is the monthly concert series presented April-October by Fort Worth South, Inc. in partnership with the Fort Worth Weekly. The event is held at Magnolia Green on Lipscomb between Magnolia and Rosedale. In 2012 we'll move the event to the SECOND Friday of the month to eliminate conflicts with other community events. Please help spread the word and we'll see you on the Green!

Open Streets on Magnolia Avenue

The newest Near Southside event is Open Streets, presented by FWSI and the City of Fort Worth for the first time in 2011. The event closes Magnolia Avenue and other streets to traffic and opens them up to cyclists, food trucks, dog-walkers, skateboarders, yoga classes, facepainters and much more. FWSI is working toward two Open Streets in 2012, with more information soon!

Historic Fairmount

Located at the Near Southside's southern edge, the Historic Fairmount neighborhood is enjoying an amazing renaissance, with restorations underway throughout the district and new homes blending in seamlessly with their historic neighbors.

Spring ArtsGoggle Program Available

The program is now available for FWSI’s 2012 Spring ArtsGoggle, set for Saturday, May 19, 4-10 pm. We’re proud to welcome over twenty new venues to the Near Southside’s grassroots gallery crawl, bringing the total number of destinations to 95! You’ll be hard pressed to see everything, but make sure to visit the various clusters of  venues and music scattered across the district and easily accessible via Molly the Trolley. Magnolia Ave, Park Place, Jennings, and South Main once again feature a wide range of art, music, and food, and the new group of venues around the 8th Ave/Pennsylvania intersection promises to be a popular stop as well.

Download program in pdf format (set up for double-sided printing), or pick up a copy at one of the ArtsGoggle venues the evening of the event. Thanks to Stephanie Buchanan for her assistance in putting the program together.

FWSI Launches All New Website

Fort Worth South, Inc.(FWSI) welcomes you to our freshly rebuilt and relaunched website. We’ve worked with the excellent web design team at Creative Magma, Inc. to fully update our site and make it easier and more enjoyable to find all the information you need about Fort Worth’s Near Southside and FWSI.

The website has two goals: 1) Provide an overview of the Near Southside with detailed information about the district’s destinations, events, and future attractions; and 2) Provide information about Fort Worth South, Inc. — the non-profit working to revitalize the district — and the FWSI members that make all of our work possible.
