This project is closely related to the Hemphill streetscape improvements planned between Rosedale and Allen. There has been strong support for also making limited improvements north of Rosedale, with the primary goals of slowing traffic speeds and providing for safe pedestrian crossings at Samaritan House. Samaritan House has facilities on both sides of Hemphill a few hundred feet north of Rosedale, and although pedestrians currently cross the street frequently at that location, it is very dangerous because traffic moves very fast and there is no crosswalk.
Construction is scheduled to begin late 2010.
