S. Main Streetscape

South Main has served as a primary travel corridor and destination on the Near Southside for the last 100 years. Along with Magnolia Avenue, S. Main serves as the heart of a designated urban village and is still lined with historic buildings that bring so much character to the area. Unlike Magnolia, however, S. Main’s streetscape is in disrepair and needs a face-lift.

Fortunately, FWSI and the City have secured almost $4.5 million for a dramatic improvement to South Main between Vickery to the north and Magnolia to the south.

Revitalization is already well underway in South Main Village. These streetscape improvements will promote additional investment and help restore economic vitality to one of Fort Worth's historic mixed-use main streets. New trees, lights, on-street parking, and slower moving traffic will truly transform South Main into the Near Southside’s next destination street.
