Street trees help create appealing and walkable places.The new Near Southside Street Tree Program took off in 2009 with a first phase of 35 trees thanks to the generosity of the Wachovia Foundation, TXU, the City of Fort Worth, Camp Bowie District, Inc., and TCU’s Neeley Fellows. FWSI followed up with 10 more trees in 2010 and will continue working with the City and private partners to keep the project going. The new trees are already making a visible difference!
